Intake requirements

These are the current minimum intake requirements:

  • To be a minimum age of 17
  • Have completed at least three years secondary school
  • Have a proven ability in English and Mathematics at NCEA Level 1 (8 credits per subject) or equivalent, as a minimum depending on trade preference.
  • You be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and have lived in New Zealand for at least five years.

Initial Training

Your initial training for becoming an Army Reserve soldier is to be completed in three modules (mods) in Waiouru. We expect a seven week commitment to cover these mods.

Mod 2  07 February - 06 March 2012
Mod 3   07 - 26 March 2012
