Army Fitness Requirements

Life as a member of the Army Reserve is challenging. You'll need to be physically fit in order to meet the challenges of Initial Training and beyond. But just how physically fit do you have to be?

The Entry Fitness Level

This is what you need to achieve in order to enter the Army.

EFL (Entry Fitness Level)
Run 2.4 Kms Curl-Ups Press-Ups
Male 12 Minutes 45 15
Female 14 Minutes 35 8

The Required Fitness Level Grade Two

This is what you need to achieve to graduate recruit training. Additional allowances exist for people aged 25 years or over.

RFL G2 (Required Fitness Level - Grade 2)
Run 2.4 Kms Curl-Ups Press-Ups
Male 10 Minutes 30 Seconds 60 28
Female 12 Minutes 20 SecondS 50 14

The Required Fitness Level Grade One

The desired fitness level for all serving soldiers and officers.
