Civilian Specialist
Are you a Civilian Doctor, Nurse, Builder, Plumber, Engineer, Police Officer or...?
If you have a specialist civilian skill, there may be a role in the Army Reserve for you. In some cases these roles may be Direct Entry, such as those for Specialist Officers listed below. In other cases, after entering the Army in another role, you may have the opportunity to utilize your specialist skills on an as required basis.
An example of the second case might be an Army Reserve Infantry Officer who is a qualified Civilian Civil Engineer being employed as an Engineer Officer to oversee reconstruction development in Afghanistan or Lebanon.
Army Reserve Soldiers with specialist skills may also find the opportunity to use these on a case by case basis. Examples of this might be an Army Reserve Soldier who is a qualified civilian Builder, Plumber or Electrician being employed on active service in this role.
In all cases you should enquire through Army Recruiting as to your suitability for a specialist position within the Army Reserve.
